Kathie earned the credential of Certified Organizer Coach®, COC®, from The Institute for Applied Coaching where she was in the first graduating class of six Certified Organizer Coaches® in December 2009.
If you've asked yourself why you might want to work with a coach, especially a Certified Organizer Coach®, Kathie invites you to read one of David Rock's newest books, Your Brain at Work. (David Rock is an international consultant, leadership coach, and the author of four books.)
Rock points out many benefits to working with a coach. On page 164 of Your Brain at Work he states, "When you speak to someone about an idea, many more parts of your brain are activated than just thinking about the idea, including memory regions, language sections, and motor centers."
When you are able to activate more parts of your brain, you enhance your problem-solving ability. Your coach is someone you can speak to about your ideas. Coaches help you figure out what you already know – not by giving you an answer, but by helping you discover your own answer.
When you work with a coach, you speak out loud more often and this activity helps you change your brain. By asking powerful questions and giving you the time and space to explore your thoughts, a coach helps you find your answers.
A Certified Organizer Coach® has specific training in understanding the human brain. Their unique training includes recognizing different processing modalities – visual, auditory, verbal, kinesthetic, tactile, emotional, cognitive, taste and smell, and intuitive. Helping you to recognize your strengths is another way organizer coaches help you find your answers.
